ASQ Six Sigma Forum Announces Third Annual Roundtable
The American Society for Quality's 3rd Annual Six Sigma
Forum Roundtable will be held in New Orleans on September
11-12, 2003.
Blanton Godfrey, Editor of the Six Sigma Forum Magazine
and dean of the College of Textiles at North Carolina
State University, will deliver the keynote address,
titled, "The Past Present, and Future of Six Sigma."
Other scheduled speakers include representatives from
recognized leaders in Six Sigma implementation such
as Honeywell and Dell Computer.
Presentations will address topics like project selection,
e-learning, and workforce development for an implementation,
as well as offer guidance on more technical subjects
like control charts and program metrics. A few of this
year's presentation titles include:
- "Six Sigma in Tough Times," Scott Wise,
Dell Computer
- "The 'Top Ten List' for a Successful Six Sigma
Program," Donna Lee Scaggs, Honeywell
- "Creating Turbo Teams in EVERY Six Sigma Project,"
Michael Brassard, Brassard & Ritter, LLC
New to this year's Roundtable are focused networking
events at which session presenters will facilitate discussions
on specified topics. Panel discussions and question
and answer sessions will also provide networking opportunities.
The Roundtable specializes in bringing together those
who work directly with the Six Sigma methodology. Six
Sigma practitioners designed the Roundtable with their
peers in mind, capping attendance at 150 to establish
an atmosphere of collaboration in which participants
learn from each other's actual implementation experiences.
This year's Roundtable activities will be held at the
Hyatt Regency New Orleans. As in past years, Black Belt
certification examinations will be offered prior to
the opening of the conference.
